Doru’s best slow cooker chili

Very easy recipe of slow cooker chili, adopted after a lot of trials from different websites. Probably is the 10th version of my chili and I’m still looking for new recipes/ideas/ingredients until I will reach “my perfection”.

  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1-1.2 lb ground pork
  • 2 diced onions
  • 3-4 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 x 455 ml Selection “Home style” chili sauce
  • 1 x 19 oz can black beans with liquid
  • 1 x 28 oz can red kidney beans, drained
  • 4-6 small potatoes diced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp dried basil
  • 3/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • any kind of hot sauce at your choice ( I used “Tiranga” hot sauce)
  • 1/2 rack of smoked pork ribs
Put the oil and the onions in a pan, over medium-high heat and cook until translucent and then add the ground pork, hot sauce and salt&pepper to taste. Cook until the meat is turning evenly brown.
Place the meat&onions mixture in a 5 or 6 quart the slow cooker, along with all other ingredients. Cook at low temperature for 8 hours. Serve with sour cream, chopped scallions and cheese at your choice (I used mozzarella this time).
